Hampshire Open Studios

Here we are again, a whole year has flown past and Room6 are opening the Granary Studio for the 2018 Hampshire Open Studios. We will be exhibiting with our new exhibition ‘Missing Elements’ at the Knit and Stitch shows this Autumn. There is a taster wall at the open studios, where each of us has put one piece of work from that exhibition, so you can see the way we are thinking.

In the book we are on the last page of the Winchester studios, no. 118. Do please pop in and see us, we are open from 10-5 on Sat/Sun/Mon 8/19/20 August , and then again Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun 23-27 August, closing on Bank Holiday Monday at 5pm

There is plenty of tea, coffee, and cake and a friendly table to sit round, and of course lots of lovely things to buy! Different members of the group will be there to chat to, and I, Susan, will be there all the time

Room 6 is presenting the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ and much more at Hampshire Open Studios  this week. we have had a lively weekend with lots of lovely visitors who have enjoyed (and bought) our work as well as sitting chatting with cups of tea and coffee and lots of lovely cake which is all home cooked although not at this home … the Room 6 members are good cake bakers….

We have been closed today and tomorrow because history tells us that we usually get fewer visitors in mid-week …  but we will re-open on Thursday right through until the end of bank holiday Monday… the cake tins will be re-freshed and various members of the group will be here to greet you all… see you here from 10-5 Thursday til Monday

Please come and meet the artists throughout the event.. of course there will be tea/coffee and lots of cake …

Wow, great open studios this year

Well we have closed the doors on 2016 Hampshire Open Studios.. it has been an excellent ten days and we are planning to do it all again next year ….. here are a few pics from the Granary venue in Owslebury

Caroline demonstrating her Eco Printing techniques

We all love a wedding .. so, we all trouped out to watch the bride ….not the most flattering Pic taken by Viv Arthur who arrived with Jane as a surprise….

Lynn Onions was demonstrating hand quilting and Alison Hulme was demonstrating free machining and Consuelo Simpson was demonstrating tapestry weaving on a great frame .. .sadly I didnt think to get any pictures … I was intermittently demonstrating drawing wth the sewing machine.. lots of tea and coffee drunk, loads of cake and cookies eaten and good sales for our work … see you all at the |granary in Owslebury opposite the church next year … same time same place…. meanwhile we are working on our next exhibition… watch this space
