Room6 have two venues already in 2018 for their work to be seen …
Seven Deadly Sins and More… will be shown throughout April at the Ashcroft Arts Centre in Fareham… this is work that has been developed from the Seven deadly Sins that we showed at the Hampshire Open studios in August .
Room6 will again be at the Granary in Owslebury for the Hampshire Open Studios during the last two weeks of August
The group is currently working on a new exhibition called ‘Missing Elements’ which we hope to launch this year, we are currently negotiating our venues, so we will announce the tour for this exhibition shortly… watch this space!
Room 6 is presenting the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ and much more at Hampshire Open Studios this week. we have had a lively weekend with lots of lovely visitors who have enjoyed (and bought) our work as well as sitting chatting with cups of tea and coffee and lots of lovely cake which is all home cooked although not at this home … the Room 6 members are good cake bakers….
We have been closed today and tomorrow because history tells us that we usually get fewer visitors in mid-week … but we will re-open on Thursday right through until the end of bank holiday Monday… the cake tins will be re-freshed and various members of the group will be here to greet you all… see you here from 10-5 Thursday til Monday
Well, here we are, setting up Hampshire Open Studios tomorrow…. another year has slipped past …
Room 6 will present ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ and much more … this part of our open studios is the start of a bigger exhibition which we will present at the Ashcroft Arts Centre in Fareham next April 2018
We are exhibiting at the Granary, Owslebury Farm, Main Road, Owslebury, SO21 1LU which is opposite the Church in the middle of Owslebury…. there will be bunting right along the hedge to guide you in!
Entrance to the studio is flat but there are two steps up to the ret of the exhibition, the refreshments, and the loo.
The Granary Studio offers a full programme of classes details of which will be available at the open studios as well a Room 6 exhibition
We are closed on the Tuesday and Wednesday but open every other day from 10-5
Apart from our seven deadly sins exhibition in Fareham next year, we are working on another exhibition , ‘Missing Elements’, hopefully to be shown at one of the national textiles shows…more details later

Room6 will go forward in 2017 with two new members so we are now a group of 7 artists, we will be at the Granary in Owslebury for Hampshire Open Studios. We will present ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’, a group collaboration and there will be lots of work to see and for sale. Please come and meet the artists throughout the event.. of course there will be tea/coffee and lots of cake …
We are also now working on our next exhibition and currently investigating possible venues to show it ….watch this space

Room 6 is a well-established group of textile artists that have come together, originally connected to the Foundation Degree in Stitched Textiles at Eastleigh College, to challenge and support its members and to provide regular opportunity for exhibiting at a professional level.
Members meet every two months on Mondays at the Granary Studio, Owslebury, Hampshire for an administrative meeting and mentoring sessions that could include work in progress sessions or group crits. Applicants should be willing to attend meetings regularly.
There is a membership fee of £5 per meeting to cover administration costs and hanging fee to cover costs for exhibitions, this might vary according to the exhibition venue costs.
The Application Process
Membership is open to anyone working in the medium of textiles. Applicants should be able to show a strong personal style, have exceptional skill in making and excellent knowledge of their chosen materials.
Applicants should contact the secretary consuelo simpson, email@example.com for an application form, and should be prepared to send a CD of up to 8 images of their current work, a CV and a personal statement of approximately 300 words. Images may also be sent via Dropbox or WeTransfer. The group will meet to consider the applications and invite potentially successful applicants to present their work on Monday 12th December, a decision will be made within 28 days and it will be final.
